Sandy Clark

President

Sandy is the current NAADAC affiliate President in Minnesota (MNAP), a board member of both the Minnesota Health Professionals Service Program (HPSP) Advisory Committee and the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT). She is also Adjunct Faculty at Minneapolis College in the Addiction Studies Department. She holds a Master’s degree in Co-Occurring Disorders Counseling.

Sandy has been working in various healthcare settings for over 30 years. She published her first book, Charlie the Therapy Dog in 2021 and is working on her second book, Sober Dog, Reflections & Journal. Sandy has a private practice that can be found at www.soberdog.org

Tammie Roth

Vice-President

Tammie has been an addiction professional for more than 12 years; the first 6 years she served as a county case manager – completing chemical use assessments (previously Rule 25s), as well as providing referrals and funding for treatment.

She became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in October 2018 and has been working as a counselor in outpatient co-occurring treatment programs ever since.

Her main interests are providing treatment services via telehealth, working with criminal justice populations, and reducing documentation requirements to keep focus on providing the best client care possible.

Theodore (TD) Hostikka

Secretary

T. D. is currently the Director of Clinical Services for Project Turnabout in Granite Falls. He's earned a B.S. in Social Science from Washington State University, an M.S. in Human Behavior, and a Masters in Divinity in Practical Theology. He is currently preparing to defend his PhD dissertation in Clinical and Forensic Psychology.

T. D. also holds a postgraduate certificate in Contemporary Theory in Addictions Studies and is a Board-Certified Clinical Supervisor.

T.D. has worked in the field of addictions in a clinical setting or in academics since 2003.

He serves on the Minnesota Addictions Professionals board and the Iowa Board of Certification Education and Ethics committee.

Dyani B.

Treasurer

Dyani is the treasurer and a board member of MNAP. She started her career in the chemical health field in 2017, and is currently licensed as an alcohol and drug counselor and board certified clinical supervisor.

Dyani currently works in an intensive outpatient treatment setting, facilitating evening groups 3x per week. She is currently pursuing guest lecturer and adjunct opportunities at a local university.

Dyani has earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice, an AA degree in Business/Marketing and a certificate in Addiction Studies and in Real Estate.

Dyani loves to learn and search for opportunities that promote personal and professional growth and development. She would like to further her education by pursuing a program specializing in public health and/or mental health. Dyani's clinical interests include empowering and encouraging personal growth and development.

James Johnson

At-Large BOD

James is an experienced substance use disorder treatment and recovery

professional with experience in multiple treatment recovery issues, both practical and legislative.

He is the National Association of

Addiction Professionals’ North Central Regional Vice-President for Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas,

Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Missouri.

James has committed his career to improving the lives of those affected by addiction, including the caregivers.

Julie Jacobson

At-Large BOD

Julie is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and educator with extensive knowledge and professional experience in the treatment of substance use disorders.

Julie's dedication is rooted in advocating for effective client services and the wellbeing of the workforce.

Tonya Klug

At-Large BOD

Tonya is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is a Minnesota Board-approved supervisor for LADC.

Therissa Libby

At-Large BOD

Therissa Libby is a professor in the Human Services Department at Metro State University. She earned her BA in Liberal Arts from Saint John’s College Annapolis, MD and then spent 12 years as an addictions counselor. Dr. Libby earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota, then went on to a postdoctoral fellowship with the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Dr.Libby founded Metro State’s MS in Co-occurring Disorders Recovery Counseling, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in substance use and mental health disorders counseling.
